Kara (Melissa Benoist) will have a tough time managing her love life when the hit CBS series "Supergirl" returns after its winter break.

TV Line reports that a new hunk will come and sweep Kara off her feet. Benoist's real life husband Blake Jenner has been tapped to play Adam Foster, the estranged son of Kara's boss Cat (Calista Flockhart). His existence was first revealed by the CatCo "superwoman" in episode 8 titled "Hostile Takeover." When hackers threatened Cat's privacy, she told Kara that as much as she loves her son, she felt that it was best that his father raised him.

The moment was an emotional one for both of them. Kara realized what her own mother must have felt when she sent her kid to Earth alone. For her part, Cat was made to see how a child would process a parent's seeming rejection. Kara and Cat established a connection that night, especially after the older woman learned that her assistant is Supergirl. But will Cat give her blessings if ever her son becomes enamored with Kara?

Adam's arrival will reportedly test Kara and Cat's "relationship like never before." As a potential love interest, he is bound to compete for the lady's attention. That will be a difficult feat to do, as Kara has two other men in the wings. There is Jimmy (Mehcad Brooks), who cannot seem to decide whether to pursue Kara or not. As Kara's crush, he has the leverage among her suitors. Unfortunately, he is still giving her the "just friends" vibe at the moment.

Then, there is Winn (Jeremy Jordan), Kara's good friend and Team Supergirl's tech wiz. Winn is obviously attracted to her, but he knows Kara likes someone else. He also thinks she will not see him as a potential boyfriend, as she is a superhero and can date any guy she wants. Whom will Kata choose among the three men?

"Supergirl" returns Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
