When the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things" returns for its second season, fans of the show will have a lot to look forward to.

Actor David Harbour — who plays Sheriff Hopper — also indirectly confirmed that Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) is alive "in some form," which explained why he was leaving Eggos in the woods in the finale of season one.

In an interview, the actor also said that the backstory of his character will be explored. In season one, it was established that the sheriff lost his daughter Sarah to a disease, but it would seem that there is more to Sarah's story that will be explored in the upcoming season.

"The Duffers and I talked a lot about that backstory, and even where her cancer came from and Hopper's guilt around the whole situation. There is more onion to be peeled back in terms of Hopper's backstory and what he's been through. And his daughter's cancer was a lot more complex than what it seemed," he said

Aside from the Eggos and Sarah, there is more about Hopper that needs to be unveiled as it can be recalled that he willingly got in a car with two mysterious men at the end of season one in the aftermath of Eleven's faceoff with the creature from the Upside Down, as well as Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) who was attacked by the creature and presumed dead.

However, the actor hinted there may be more stories left for his character as well.

"Oh, there will be a season two," he added mysteriously.

Producer Shawn Levy, on the other hand, is looking forward to unpeeling more layers to the story that was already established in the first season.

"So I'll just say that a lot of the big mysteries get answered at the end of Season 1, but we are very much kind of unearthing new problems and questions that merit future stories and future investigation in the most enjoyable way. So we are in love with our cast and our characters," he teased.

"Stranger Things" returns for its sophomore season on Netflix next year.
