SNES Classic Mini restock news: in demand console to be back on retailer shelves soon

On its Sept. 29 release, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Mini console sold out in just the first 24 hours in stores both in the U.S. and the U.K.

Since the Holiday season is just around the corner, stocks for the SNES classic flew off its shelves on its launch day. Shipments for the SNES Classic will keep coming. However, buying – let alone finding a stock of the mini console this time of the week will prove to be difficult. Although stores who ordered the console stocked up a lot, fans of the gaming cube just kept storming in every 10 minutes.

GameStop Senior VP of Merchandising Bob Puzon said that fans who did not get the mini console should not worry because more stocks will be coming out very soon.

"Nintendo has done it again! Customer demand for the SNES Classic was just like we expected," Puzon said and further added that both GameStop and ThinkGeek sold out the SNES Classic in just minutes off its launch.

Online orders are possible. Installing the mobile app, The Tracker, will keep users updated on the stocks of the retro gaming console. Available for both iOS and Android, the app can also receive Twitter alerts.

IGN reported some of their staff members who ordered the SNES Classic are still not getting shipment dates even after the launch of the mini console. A similar scenario is also seen with users ordering the SNES Classic on Amazon.

For U.K. fans, since online U.K. stores have yet to restock their shelves, Amazon France and Amazon Spain are currently taking orders for the SNES Classic mini. Users need only to use their U.K. account to place an order and have the item delivered.

Loaded with 21 games such as "Contra 3: The Alien Wars," "Donkey Kong Country," "Mega Man X," and "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," the SNES Classic retails at $80. The release of the 16-bit retro console was announced back in June.
