FOX has yet to renew "Scream Queens," but it seems like season 2 is already in the works. Star Oliver Hudson and series co-creator Ryan Murphy may have spilled the beans after they each hinted on what viewers could expect if the show does return.
In his interview on "Watch What Happens Live," Hudson answered host Andy Cohen's leading question on whether they already know the premise for the next season. The actor replied that he did have an idea but refused to expound. He said that he was not confident to reveal anything, as they were not sure if the series would be "picked up." What Hudson did divulge, however, got many fans excited.
According to him, season 2 would be set in a summer camp. Earlier this fall, reports state that the 20<sup>th Century FOX has trademarked the titled "Scream Queens: Summer Camp." The coincidence, some think, is too convenient to be considered pure luck.
Some avid followers of the horror-comedy series took this as a confirmation that indeed, season 2 is already in the works.
Meanwhile, Murphy said in an interview back in June with Zap2it that if there would be a renewal, the second installment would feature the four remaining survivors from season 1, who would reportedly be playing the same characters. They would be joined by new ones, and as the co-creator shared, "the death party starts again."
During a Q&A at Fan Fright Fest in New York City last October, Murphy further revealed that he has already pitched the storyline for season 2. FOX executives, he said, were already excited about it.
"I just pitched to Fox the second season. Everybody loves the idea of it, and the conceit is three or four of the cast members [from season 1] survive. [And in the] second season, the survivors go off to a new venue -- a horror based venue -- and then they have to fight a new killer, a new villain, a new threat."
Murphy also said that fans would be seeing at least ten additions to the cast, one being a well-known male pop star. "American Horror Story: Hotel" star Lady Gaga has likewise expressed her interest in the show. Murphy refused to further comment, however, but he did confirm that casting calls have already started.
For now, fans will have to watch the "Scream Queens" finale which will air on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. EST to discover who will survive to continue in the second season.
