'Scream Queens' season 2 updates: More clues on "big pop star" cast revealed

Is Harry Styles one of the new casts of "Scream Queens" season 2? Facebook/Fox

"Scream Queens" star Lea Michele's comment on fans keeping their cool if one of the new casts of the hit FOX series turns out to be "One Direction" crooner Harry Styles may be the only confirmation that they will get at the moment.

With series co-creator Ryan Murphy refusing to give more clues on who the "big pop star" set to join "Scream Queens" for season 2 is, speculations that it is the 21-year-old British singer have been rife. Michele's interview with InStyle fueled the rumors even more, as she expounded on how much Styles would fit the show. The actress played Hester in the freshman run of the series.

"If it's Harry Styles, everybody better calm down. I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I'm also thinking that he should be in the "Wicked" movie. He's our modern day Mick Jagger," she said.

During the Q&A at Fan Fright Fest in New York City last October, Murphy revealed that he has already pitched the story idea for the next installment of the series. He said that the network executives were already excited about it, even if FOX has yet to announce the renewal of the show. Murphy also revealed that he has started casting calls for those who may join the show for season 2.

The showrunner shared that he has met up with some of the cast members. He likewise revealed that he likes running after people he has never worked with before. Some actors have even emailed him to express their interest in being in the show. One reportedly came from a well-known male pop star. Murphy refused to give more clues, though, as the network would purportedly "kill" him if he divulges more information.

Styles has reportedly received offers of acting jobs, but has yet to accept anything. Will his first acting career start in "Scream Queens" season 2?
