Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) will find himself alone and lonely when the hit ABC series "Scandal" returns for the second half of season 5.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the U.S. President has nobody left to support him during the six-month time-jump, except perhaps for his faithful press secretary Abby (Darby Stanchfield). Olivia (Kerry Washington) left him during the midseason finale, as she could not bear to be a puppet in the White House. Fitz's ex-wife Mellie (Bellamy Young) has also been living a life of her own after their separation. While Cyrus (Jeff Perry) has officially reclaimed his position as Chief of Staff, his relationship with Fitz remains strained. This predicament leaves the POTUS with hardly anyone on his side except Abby.

"Fitz is unfortunately alone without Mellie, without Olivia and sort of without Cyrus in the sense that the trust between Cyrus and Fitz is broken. Cyrus is still working for him, but it's a troubled situation, so Abby is taking up that slack in terms of who he leans on, but Fitz is very much alone — the guy alone on the top of the hill," Goldwyn shared in his interview.

Meanwhile, the promo for the upcoming episode shows Olivia and her Gladiators ready to handle a fresh wave of interesting cases. In the clip, she, Huck (Guillermo Diaz), Quinn (Katie Lowes) and Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr.) are looking smart wearing their respective suits. Fitz' ladylove is sporting a red trench coat and her voiceover says they are never done and they do not give up. Huck is putting on a black leather jacket while Quinn is asking the viewers if they want to be a Gladiator in a suit. The 30-second teaser ended with the words, "We're back in business."

"Scandal" season 5 will return on Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
