The season finale episode of Scandal 3 will be airing Thursday, April 17.

The hit ABC series will be ending with a highly anticipated 'explosive' episode set to shock viewers.

Scandal season 3 episode18 is titled "The Price of Free and Fair Elections" and the official synopsis is as follows: "Election Day has arrived and nothing is going to be off limits as the candidates try to capture votes. Meanwhile, Olivia is going to try to understand Maya's motives ,and Charlie will make a very surprising move."

TV Guide's Mega Buzz states: "It sounds like Maya's plan to target the president with her bomb will come to fruition. In other words, expect an explosive season finale. Making matters worse, we hear the finale takes place on Election Day, which means that the lives of even more people, including campaign manager Olivia, will be in jeopardy. Anyone want to guess the victim(s)?"

The explosion is set to put lives in danger, including Mom Pope's daughter Olivia. The episode is set to end in multiple cliff-hangers.

Actress Darby Stanchfield dished to Entertainment Weekly: "... in the season finale, while we were filming it, I was looking around this one particular set - and it doesn't really matter which one it is because you know Abby is everywhere...but I was looking around and thinking, 'Wow, things have gotten so crazy, that they might have to build a totally new set'."

Shonda Rhimes and Mark Wilding have written the episode. Tom Verica has directed it.

The season 3 finale of Scandal will air, Thursday, April 17 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. A live stream will be available to view online on ABC GO.

After the finale episode the Scandal After Party will be held with Jimmy Kimmel Live "Behind The Scandalabra".
