Samsung has yet to let slip details about its latest project, which leaves everyone wondering what the South Korea-based tech firm is up to. Fortunately, rumor mills are doing all the whipping for users who cannot wait to find out more about the alleged Samsung Galaxy S6. Reports reveal that the next flagship smartphone, codenamed "Project Zero," was shown only to carriers during the CES 2015 and, for some reason, Samsung found it best to keep it from the public eye, at least for now.
Although only "select partners" allegedly managed to see how the newest handset looks like, there is word on the street that Samsung is giving it all in for not one but two variants of its upcoming offering. One S6 version will be clad with metal, Business Insider reported, citing its "sources familiar with the company's plans." Apparently, the less classy plastic backside could finally be ditched for a streamlined metal unibody.
The other S6 handset will reportedly look a lot like the Galaxy Note Edge, which has its right rim curved where widgets are usually displayed. Part of recent chitchat points to a dual edge display for this variant. Also, rumors about a prototype of this model in testing also made the rounds, but this has not been substantiated.
Nevertheless, there are pretty solid details about the Galaxy S6's specs and, should they make it to the device, the Galaxy S6 and all its variants should come out superior. Its 5.5-inch display is said to be of Quad HD, with resolution climbing to 2560 x 1440 and pixel density all sharp and crisp at 534 ppi. A 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor will power up the device along with sizeable 3 GB of RAM and storage capacity of up to 32 GB (expandable to 128 GB with an SD card). Juicing up the battery will not take long while users could enjoy its UV sensor and unidirectional microphones. A killer 20-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper complete the imposing list.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is still a bit of a mystery for many but speculations indicate that it won't be for long, as this device is expected to put in an appearance during the Mobile World Congress in March.
