Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus news: Pre-order starts Aug. 21, as per new leak

Samsung will finally lift the veil off the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Galaxy Note 5 during its Unpacked event on Aug. 13. However, prior to its release, a brand new leak that comes from Samsung itself has let users know when the former will be available for pre-order.

The French website of the tech firm allegedly published a home page for the bigger S6 Edge. It was already removed but Galaxy Club was fast enough to take a screenshot. The sighting revealed that those interested to get the S6 Edge Plus can pre-order one from Aug. 21 to Sept. 3.

It was also stated that users will get a Level Bluetooth headset and three months of free Google Play music when they order the device within those dates. According to BGR, by Sept. 4, the day after pre-orders are all registered and closed, the new phablet will likely show up in stores.

It remains to be seen if the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the latest in the Note series assumed to be introduced along with the larger S6 Edge, will get the same pre-order schedules and package.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The phablet is reportedly going to be fitted out with the 64-bit Exynos 7422 octa-core processor, one generation more advanced than what its parent smartphone has under its hood.

It is also touted to get 4 GB RAM, making it and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which is speculated to get the same internal memory, the first smartphones with the Samsung brand to offer such large RAM capacity. To complement this, there is likely 32 GB of storage to go along.

A 16-megapixel camera on the back complete with optical image stabilization coupled with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper will be in charge of its imaging performance. Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
