Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini waterproof version listed on Samsung's New Zealand website

It would appear that Samsung is indeed priming for a Galaxy S5 Mini after information about the handset reportedly cropped up on the South Korean company's New Zealand website.

PhoneArena reports that details confirming the device appeared in a Samsung New Zealand warranty support document that has since been edited to remove any reference to the Mini.

The website has posted a screen shot of the document here

It reveals that the device will be able to withstand submersion in water for up to 30 minutes.  It is believed the device will have the same watertight removable back panel as the S5 and Galaxy S4 Active the likelihood is that if it is indeed waterproof, it will also be dust proof.

Additional rumored specs include a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720p HD display, an 8 mp rear camera and16GB of internal storage.  It's also rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon CPU and have a 2,100mAh battery.

Earlier in the week, GSMPedia reported that the device will also come with  Android 4.4 with TouchWiz skin KitKat and that the display would have a resolution of 1280x720.

As the device has not been officially confirmed by Samsung, there is as yet no release date.  However, there is a good chance Samsung will release it around the time of the Galaxy S5 Prime - the South Korean giant's new high-end variant of the Galaxy S5 - due out in June.
