Samsung Galaxy Mega On release, specs and features rumors: Midranger spotted in benchmark test

Samsung seems to be working on a flurry of new offerings. These include a rumored new iteration of its Galaxy A lineup, an oversize 18.4-inch tablet, and another one that's smaller and Windows-powered. But it appears that the company is bulking up its midrange lineup, too.

Just recently, a device referred to as the Samsung Galaxy Mega On was spotted in a GeekBench3 benchmark test. The device appeared to house a 64-bit Snapdragon 412 processor, which Mobile Burn says Qualcomm will release before the year ends.

According to Phone Arena, the chipset under the device's hood could be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410. But since the processor, as stated in the benchmark test, was clocked at 1.4 GHz (which the 410 cannot support), the site concludes that it could be the more advanced 412 unit.

Since last month, the Samsung Galaxy Mega On has been in the rumor mills with occasional leaks churned out here and there. Its rumored specs classifies it as an entry-level phablet.

The device reportedly sports a 5.5-inch display with a 720p resolution, and houses 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of storage space that can be expanded with a microSD card. The biggest treat in the device is the imaging section, which includes a 13 MP shooter on the back and a 5 MP unit on the front.

Media outlets believe that the Samsung Galaxy Mega On is made to appeal to users on a tight budget but want for themselves a nice and decent large-sized mobile companion that can be relatively as good as to the newly-released Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

The leaked specs hint that this device won't break the bank. Unfortunately, concrete information on pricing and the release date are still inaccessible.
