Although it has already been confirmed that "Rick and Morty" will return to Adult Swim for a third season, there is still no specific date on which fans can once again see the sociopath scientist and his grandson in their new adventures.

However, for hardcore fans who want to keep up with the duo, the comic book series is set to continue its run very soon.

According to MoviePilot, the new adventures of Rick and Morty will be chronicled in its comic book form, which started spring of last year. However, the new comic book run will be penned by new hands, as the helm is handed down to author Tom Fowler. Fowler will write and illustrate "Rick and Morty" instead of the first book's author Zac Gorman and illustrator CJ Cannon.

The industry follower noted that fans need not worry about the change. While Fowler is a first-time author, he is not a neophyte when it comes to comic books. Fowler is a longtime illustrator for big-name volumes such as "Green Arrow," "Hulk: Season One," and "Prince of Persia: Before the Sandstorm."

Fans can also expect new and never-before-seen adventures for the duo as Fowler has not seen season 2 of "Rick and Morty" at all. This means that the new creator will base his stories on alternate timelines, and each adventure will go back to the original storyline at the end of each arc.

Meanwhile, aside from the release date of the new season for the TV show, what season 3 of "Rick and Morty" is all about is currently unknown. Since the new comic book will take its narratives from a different perspective, fans will not be able to see spoilers about the upcoming TV show premiere.

However, this didn't deter fans of "Rick and Morty," as different speculations and predictions continue to float online. According to Inverse, some of the most common predictions involve the return of Evil Morty, as well as more appearances by fan favorites like Mr. Meeseeks and Snowball.
