The startling revelations leading to the final episode of ABC's "Revenge" seem never-ending. Last week's episode showed that Emily/Amanda Clarke's (Emily VanCamp) mortal enemy Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) was never dead after all.
Victoria successfully staged her "death" by burning her own house, and managed to put Emily behind bars for the crime that she never committed. But at the end of the show's four-year run, how will Emily redeem herself and make Victoria pay for bringing her to another struggle?
Series executive producer Sunil Nayar spoke about Emily's impending fate in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. According to Nayar, a key character will die before the series ends on Sunday, but the executive producer refused to mention who that character is.
"It is the end of a journey, but it's a journey that's been so darkly taken. How do we want her to feel at the end of this journey, and how do we want the audience to feel about the nature of this journey?" Nayar said.
The executive producer also said that they want their audience to think deeper if they want to consider doing the things that Emily did to get back at the people who hurt her and her family, and the repercussions that it would bring.
But it seems like the other people from the Hamptons will have a happy ending, including Emily's dad David Clarke (James Tupper), her long-time friend Jack Porter (Nick Wechsler), and trusted ally Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann).
The official synopsis for the series finale of "Revenge" reads:
Backed into a corner, Emily is forced to admit her guilt, but she'll have to decide how far she'll go before admitting defeat."
"Revenge" will air its final episode on Sunday, May 10.
