Michael Scofield and Sara Tancredi shippers would have to brace their hearts for an emotional reunion between the two when the sequel of the hit action drama Prison Break is aired in the Spring of 2017.

In an interview with TV Line during the San Diego Comic Con, Wentworth Miller said that while a reunion is inevitable, it may not exactly go as the shippers are hoping because the two characters are in two different points in their lives.

"Sara has moved on with her life to the best of her abilities. Michael, in a way, has not. He's been elsewhere for seven years, up to various things. The question is when he gets there, will she even recognize him? Is he still the man that she fell in love with? Because he's been up to dark things and has walked some shady road so my question is... does Michael deserve a happy ending? Does he deserve that reunion with Sara?" the actor said.

An earlier report indicated that when the show returns for the fifth season after the Season 4 finale, Sara will already be married to Scott Ness who will be played by Royal Pains actor Mark Feurstein.

But hope springs eternal for those hoping that sparks will once again fly between the two former lovers. Sarah Wayne Callies who plays Sara, dangled the idea during a Facebook Live interview where she discussed the tie that binds Sara and Michael together.

"There's a new focal point and that's our son. Before, we had that sort of liberty to take certain risks and to live for each other and now, there's this boy that needs to be taken care of and that changes the dynamic substantially," she stated.

Aside from Miller and Callies, rounding up the cast are former series regulars Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows, Robert Knepper as T-Bag, Amaury Nolasco as Sucre and Rockmond Dunbar as C-Note, reported Hall of Fame magazine.
