"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 may have finally revealed A's identity, but the mysteries do not end there. There could be enough to go around that would allow the show to extend to up to eight seasons.

"I think we'll let the fans tell us what they want," show creator Marlene King told Variety.

Back when the show was just starting season 5, ABC renewed it for seasons 6 and 7. While there was no formal indication that the long-running mystery thriller is going to end after seven seasons, it was believed that this will be its closing run.

When the second half of season 6 returns, the liars have already gone to college.

"They go on their separate ways for five years and an event brings them back to town," King said, promising that from there, fans will "get to discover a lot more about who they are."

Meanwhile, fans are still in shock with regard to the unmasking of the girls' tormentor. Many did not see it coming and others were unable to come to terms of the revelation in the season 6 summer finale. Even actress Vanessa Ray, who plays Cece Drake aka A, acknowledges that.

"It's been actually amazing just watching the fans react because I actually feel like they were craving it," the star told Hollywood Life. "Some were angry or in denial and now they're in acceptance and they see me in a good place now and it's been fun to kind of go on that ride with them."

With regard to the reveal, Ray said it is an episode that needs to be re-watched more than once. She then expressed how thankful she is of the series.

"It's been really awesome for me," she said. "Nothing like this has ever happened to me in my acting career so it is cool!"
