One of the first Pokémon confirmed to participate in the upcoming "Pokkén Tournament" title has recently been announced. Ghost monster Gengar will now join other famous Pokémon characters in the upcoming first-ever Pokémon arcade game.

The announcement about the ghost Pokémon's inclusion in the upcoming game was held on a livestream that was hosted by "Pokkén" and "Tekken" producer/ director Katsuhiro Harada. He was wearing a gigantic Pikachu for the said occasion.

Back in August 2014, a contest was held via Twitter to find out which characters should be featured in the upcoming game, and Gengar was one of the Pokémon fans asked for. At the moment, he is the seventh character featured in the roster, which includes Pikachu, Lucario, Gardevoir, Machamp, Suicune, and Blaziken, but both Bandai Namco and Nintendo are still mum about the final number of characters in the game.

According to TechnoBuffalo, Gengar's fighting abilities will be taken directly from the video game, where he can do his signature "burst attack," which happens to be the tournament's version of his transformation to become Mega Gengar. Based on the trailer, Gengar can also do several other moves like Feint, Attack, as well as Lick Face.

The soon-to-be released "Pokkén Tournament" title is an arcade fighter developed by Bandai Namco in collaboration with game publisher The Pokémon Company. The first trailer for the game was introduced during the Pokémon Game Show on Aug. 17 and 18, 2013.

"Pokkén Tournament" is scheduled to be released for arcades sometime in summer in Japan, but there is no information when it will be released in the United States.

Meanwhile, fans of Pokémon are waiting to hear any announcement regarding the possible console port of the game for the Wii U.
