'Pokémon XY' movie news: Leaked mysterious Pokémon

Promo images that were put up online suggests a new Pokémon to be introduced in a third "Pokémon XY" movie.

As reported by Pokémon observer site Serebii, the images were released in the Japanese manga magazine CoroCoro. The images seem to be details about a third "Pokémon XY" movie, which will reportedly be released in Japan by next year. In the picture is a mysterious Pokémon in silhouette, and it is captioned: "Is this a new Pokémon?"

While the idea of a new Pokémon excites fans, the wording on the caption is too vague for observers to confirm if, indeed, the new Pokémon will be introduced in the upcoming third movie.

Conversely, according to some of the fans, the image may well be connected to the second XY movie called "Hoopa and The Clash of Ages." The speculations are somewhat supported by the scanned image's background – they seem to be scenes from the "Hoopa" movie that would premiere in Japan soon.

In addition to the movie scenes, some fans who are familiar with the series are claiming that the shadowed Pokémon bears some resemblance to Hoopa in its unbound form. The figure also has three eyes on its face; however, the mystery image lack the horns that differentiates an unbound Hoopa.

In other news about the upcoming second movie, there are rumors that the release of "Hoopa and The Clash of Ages" will have Pokémon lovers see the legendary Pokémon Zygarde in action. Although there has been no confirmation yet on the exact role of the sixth-gen legendary counterpart to other legendary Pokémon Yveltal and Xerneas, it is said that Zygarde could swing either way – the Pokémon could be of great help to the movie's protagonists, or be working against them. In addition, most fans speculate that the upcoming movie will be showing Terminus Cave, the location where Zygarde can be found. It is unclear, though, whether the cave will be featured prominently in the movie or will just have a brief appearance.

Aside from its Japan showing, "Hoopa and The Clash of Ages" is also slated to be shown on Cartoon Network later this year.
