"Person of Interest" may be airing its last season as the cancellation rumors appear to be true. Comicbook Resources reveals that there is a huge possibility that the show will be axed after the fifth installment ends with 13 episodes.

CBS has yet to comment regarding the science-fiction crime drama's renewal or cancellation, which fuels the speculations that it is indeed coming to a close. One of the series' regular cast members, Michael Emerson, who plays Harold Finch, admitted in the interview that they were looking at season 5 as the big ender. He said, however, that there was still a chance that the show would be picked up by another network, but that it would be slim.

"I'm not sure how these decisions get made. It's entirely possible that this is the last 13 episodes on CBS, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that it could go to another broadcaster. ... But I'm not sure who would take it; it's a very expensive show," he said.

Jim Caviezel, who plays John Reese, also shared his views on the possible cancellation, but he chose to focus on how much the show has accomplished. He said that they have done things "that no one else has done" and that, in itself, was an achievement for them.

Meanwhile, producer Chris Fisher reveals that season 5 maybe the most dramatic and intense season yet. The executive producer recently attended the New York Comic Con panel event, which was held in October, together with the rest of the cast. At the event, the group shared, as reported by Venture Capital Post, that this time, the storyline will be something unforgettable for fans.

Showrunner Greg Plageman also hinted that Finch's back story will be featured in season 5. He said that viewers will finally learn what pushed finch to create the Machine.
