'Overwatch' DLC release date characters: New hero to be coming this month

 Blizzard

"Overwatch" took the world by storm, and now that the game has settled, there are now hints of a new character coming soon to the PS4, PC, and Xbox One platforms of this game.

According to Game N Guide, it's expected for "Overwatch" to introduce this upcoming character at the San Diego Comic Con. A Blizzard Panel is scheduled to air on July 21, called Behind the Scenes of Overwatch's Newest Hero.

There are still no details about the new hero, so technically the developer will introduce it and give more details. That's why it is more sensible for players to follow this panel this month. Rock Paper Shotgun, however, might already have an idea who this rumored new hero is, revealing that this character will be a sniper-type hero.

Of course, while Blizzard has yet to reveal any details of this hero's supposed background story, RPS states that the sniper character might also be a medic called Sombra. They even said that the "Overwatch" game's teaser trailer featured a lot of mysterious details pertaining to the character, with fans pointing out that Sombra could be the blurred, hooded character.

The claim was solidified by the fact that the "Overwatch" Twitter account tweeted a post that hints at Sombra as well. It's a picture that depicts a new sniper rifle that seems to be designed by Torbjörn and Mercy. The notes on the weapon suggested that it was meant to be a biotic device, but Torbjörn modified it to become a sniper rifle. Mercy was concerned that a healing-exclusive device is becoming "weaponized." This points to Sombra becoming a healing support character that can double as a sniper.

With this, fans should just wait until Blizzard holds its press conference to finalize the details of this new hero.
