'Outlast 2' updates: Devs include adult diapers as a pre-order bonus for the sequel's Kickstarter campaign

The hype for the upcoming sequel of the horror-survival game "Outlast" is real, and its developer Red Barrels Studios is promising their fan base that the game will be the scariest one that they have ever.

To prove that they are serious about this claim, the developer has announced a Kickstarter campaign for a fake brand of adult diapers called "Underscares," which they are marketing as a joke pre-order bonus for the game.

According to Game Rant, the silly stunt pulled by Red Barrels Studios is also a means of contributing to the hype for the upcoming sequel. The developers assures gamers that this line of adult diapers will help players scared by the game. If players lose control of their bowels, they will not have to run to the bathroom since they can just relieve themselves right while they are playing the game.

Players who like a good joke can get their own pair of Underscares by backing "Outlast 2's" Kickstarter campaign.

And while the price of the campaign for the sequel might be a bit too much for some, interested backers are assured that supporting the game will also net them a Steam key for "Outlast 2" when it gets released. By contributing to the Kickstarter campaign, fans of the franchise can pre-order the PC edition of the game while also getting a unique collector's edition item. A pair of "Underscares is definitely much cheaper compared to the "Final Fantasy" car priced at $400,000.

"Outlast 2" will not be a continuation of its predecessor's story, and according to Counsel & Heal, the release of its demo back in October gives a hint that both the location of the game and its main character are entirely different.

The upcoming sequel is set somewhere in the Arizona desert and players will take on the role of Blake Langermann, an investigative journalist who, after an accident, needs to find his wife Lynn.

As of now, no definite release date has been provided for "Outlast 2" just yet.
