While there was a relative lack of information leading up to "Outlander's" second season, it seems that the opposite is true now with the upcoming third season of the hit Starz show.

Fans of the show should be happy with the outpouring of information and teasers from the series' production and actors. However, some news may either pique their interest further or disappoint them.

According to a report by CSN, fans who were wondering why the Battle of the Culloden was not explored extensively in the previous season will finally get their wish when season 3 does exactly that. They might also get more than they bargained for because two characters are expected to die because of the battle.

In terms of the reunion between Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), it may not go as easily as shippers would expect because a report from Inquisitr hints that after a 20-year separation, Jamie will be on the verge of remarrying Laoghaire (Nell Hudson).

"Jamie and Claire have been separated for twenty years. Claire assumed he died in the Battle of Culloden, but once she discovered her second husband survived, she decided she had to go back in time," Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore said. He did confirm that there will be a reunion and plenty of steamy scenes between the two characters when the show returns.

Fans of Jamie and Claire should not be too worried that the couple will be separated for long because the two will be heading to Jamaica quickly. Heughan assured fans that the show has a lot in store for loyal viewers.

"It's going to be a completely different show. Next year's stuff is probably the most interesting, in a way. We've been setting it up, setting the stage, introducing these characters, and now it goes into new, different worlds," he said in an interview with Vulture.

There are no official announcements yet about the premiere date of "Outlander" season 2, but the show will allegedly return in mid-2017.
