Orlando Magic trade rumors 2016: Tobias Harris available on the trade block?

Another young big man is on the trade market with the deadline period nearing as the Orlando Magic are reportedly open to trade offers involving forward Tobias Harris.

Harris is in his fourth season with Orlando since getting traded from the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2012–13 season.

Marc Stein of ESPN tweeted, "Monday morning trade scuttle: Orlando isn't outright shopping Tobias Harris, but word is the Magic aren't discouraging offers for him either."

Stein followed it with another post saying, "There's a growing sense among rival executives that Orlando, now 3-15 in 2016, is open to proposals of any kind to get a bit more seasoned."

These tweets were posted before the Magic's second consecutive win over the Atlanta Hawks Monday, with the victory only being their fourth this 2016.

Orlando had a great start to the season, but as the new year chimed in, the team struggled and is currently at 4–15 this 2016.

The Magic (23–28) are currently battling the Detroit Pistons (27–26), Charlotte Hornets (26–26), Washington Wizards (23–27), New York Knicks (23–32), and the Bucks (21–32) for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings, with the playoffs also approaching.

Despite the rumors, it looks like saying goodbye to Harris before the trade deadline is not the major priority for the Magic, although they are not closing their doors once a great proposal comes along.

Harris has played and started in 49 games for Orlando so far, averaging 13.7 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 32.9 minutes of action per contest.

Even though there is a slight dip in his scoring average, the 23-year-old, 6-foot-9-inch forward is still an efficient contributor.

If the Magic are really switching the green light on for Harris this trade period, he would be a great addition to any team seeking to improve its frontcourt.

Harris and the Magic start a three-game home stand today, Wednesday, facing the second best team in the league and in the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs.
