Not too long ago, rumors about Caitlyn Jenner making an appearance in "Orange is the New Black" season 4 started to trickle in. While some fans may have thought it as exciting to see the Olympian hanging out in Litchfield, this so-called cameo has been debunked.

Jenner was rumored to play a love interest to Sophia, a character played by transgender actress Laverne Cox. Screenrant says that it reached out to Netflix for some clarification and right off the bat, the streaming giant shot down the rumor saying, "It isn't true."

The show is known for shedding light on LGBTQ issues and featuring lesbian and bisexual characters. Having been a consistent advocate for the transgender community, Jenner could have been a perfect fit in "Orange is the New Black" season 4. However, fans won't be seeing the star in the series.

Fans do hope that Sophia gets to meet her love interest or even just a new friend in the upcoming season. Rumor has it that she will no longer be in solitary confinement, which is good because she terribly needs a little sunshine in her life. It seems the character has suffered enough, having been abused by fellow inmates; and her fight with Gloria makes this all the more necessary. It will be refreshing to see things in her life becoming great again.

Jenner's cameo appearance was first reported by OK Magazine, which cited a statement from a source, saying, "It's the perfect time for Caitlyn to come in and help Sophia take a stand against the bullies. Plus, with Cait's popularity, she'd surely draw more viewers."

For now, confirmed stars joining "Orange is the New Black" season 4 include "Pacific Rim" star Brad William Henke and Mike Houston of "The Drop" who were tapped to play as the new guards in the correctional. "Get Smart" star Kelly Karbacz will take on the role of an admin officer at the prison.

"Orange is the New Black" season 4 will debut in June 2016.
