Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) will struggle with his new identity as the other Dark One in the upcoming episode of the ABC series "Once Upon a Time."

In "Broken Heart," the official promo shows the pirate acquiring a taste for revenge, as all his hate for Rumple (Robert Carlyle) resurface. Hook is out to settle scores with the person who tormented him all these years. In the clip, he is seen giving Rumpel a sword and taunts him to finish what they started. The next scene shows the two locked in a fierce battle, where Hook succeeds in disarming his opponent. Will his darkness push him to end Rumpel's life?

Last episode, Emma's (Jennifer Morrison) actions were finally explained. All her deceit was for one person alone — Hook. It was revealed that Hook got cut by the Excalibur during one of his duels with Arthur (Liam Garrigan). As Merlin (Elliot Knight) rightfully put it, no one could survive a wound from the sword and Emma better not use her dark magic to save Hook. The only option left for her was to use the Spark of Prometheus to tether Hook to the Excalibur. The only catch was that Hook would rise as another Dark One.

Emma, however, did not care if the darkness consumed Hook, as long as he's alive. She told Regina (Lana Parrilla) that it was the only way to save him. All Emma wanted was a future with Hook, hence all the bad things she did to secure the sword and the flame. To her sorrow, however, Hook did not appreciate what she did. At the end of last episode, he chided her for even keeping the secret from him, after all they have been through.

In episode 9, Hook will utter the very words Emma does not want to hear from him. The promo shows him telling her that he wants to hurt her in the same exact way that she hurt him. A pirate consumed with darkness is a very dangerous foe, as Rumpel will learn. As for Emma, what are Hook's plans for her? In this instance, can't love conquer all?

"Once Upon A Time" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
