Nintendo amiibo release: 'Animal Crossing' cards pack pre-order available now

Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards Pack Series 1 Nintendo UK

Fans can now pre-order the "Animal Crossing" amiibo cards pack from  the Nintendo Store UK. The new goodies are priced at 3.49 euro and will be released on Oct. 2 (Sept. 25 in North America), the same day "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer" will be rolled out.

The cards, which include one special card and two regular ones, will be compatible with the upcoming 3DS game. This title is unlike any game in its series, focusing on decorating villagers' houses to their specifications instead of having the player oversee everything in the town.

As gamers already know by now, special cards from card packs give them access to a brand new character. The regular ones, on the other hand, unlock additional villagers. While these villagers may be unlocked over time, these card packs will give them out without players breaking a sweat.

The special amiibo card in this "Animal Crossing" pack will provide "a character whose house you won't be able to build without using its amiibo card," as Nintendo describes. Other than "Happy Home Designer," gamers can also use the cards on "Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival" on Wii U.

That said, the gaming company touts that these "Animal Crossing" amiibo cards pack will be "perfect for collecting and trading with friends" with their various use. According to Wire, these cards also have the same NFC chip found on amiibo figures, which will allow gamers to unlock new features in other compatible games.

In other related news, Nintendo has revealed that "Super Mario Maker" will be compatible with 73 amiibo figures. This includes the figurines from "Super Smash Bros," "Mario Party 10," "Yoshi's Wooly World," "Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash" and "Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival." Nintendo has listed all the toys covered here.
