NFL trade rumors: Cleveland Browns not keen on trading Josh Gordon despite interest from Eagles, 49ers

A lot of teams reportedly have their hearts set on acquiring Cleveland Browns' wide receiver Josh Gordon since he was reinstated by the NFL but the team doesn't seem to be interested in letting one of their star players go.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team is not looking to trade off Brown and is more interested in developing an environment in which the player could thrive.

Brown will have to sit out the first four games of the season as part of his suspension. It can be recalled that the wide receiver was suspended for the entire 2015 season for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse.

Among the teams who are reportedly reaching out to get Gordon is the 49ers who earlier tried to acquire the player in 2014. It was said that any potential trades was rejected by Jimmy Haslam, reported Niners.

This adding to the fact that the 49ers need to reinforce their wide receiver position with a strong player.

There has also been reports that the Philadelphia Eagles is another team that might be interested in Gordon as it needs a 1,000-yard receiver. Last season, both Jordan Matthews and Riley Cooper fell short as Matthews posted 85 catches for 997 yards, and Cooper posted 327.

However, the Browns are not keen on working out a deal, and as it turns out, Gordon personally doesn't want to leave either.

"I haven't heard too much about it. Cleveland is my team. That's where I want to be, everything like that. That's not even in the ballpark for me. I'm not sure how that works," he said.

He said that he loves working with Jimmy Haslam, the coaches, his teammates as well the the entire city.

"They're family. They're showing me the love and respect back to me by allowing me to stay here up to this point," he said.
