'GTA 5 for PC': New patch update makes mods unusable

 Grand Theft Auto website

The newest patch update for the PC version of "Grand Theft Auto V" seems to render mods unusable.

According to the patch notes by developer Rockstar Games, update 350.1 centers on game improvements and fixes for bugs, crashes, and performance and stability concerns.

For gameplay issues, glitches and bugs were fixed. For example, players' vehicles in the garage can no longer be replaced accidentally by vehicles outside on the street. For one-on-one deathmatches that begin in free roam mode, all participants will now spawn properly.

Other minute glitches were also fixed in-game. Issues such as errors in buying apartments, quitting the game when the text chat is used in Golf, and Snapmatic selfie clipping issues are just some of the many minor glitches that patch 350.1 fixed.

The new patch also made it possible for future patch updates to be downloaded much faster.

However, it seems that a script included in the new patch makes modded versions in the game unusable. Of course, mods are not officially supported in any "GTA" titles, but most hardcore fans and players of the game actually use mods as a way to make the gameplay more exciting.

According to the official modding community website for the PC version of "Grand Theft Auto V," the hashes included in the new update's codes makes the Script Hook V, a tool for modding, unusable for the current version of the title.

Meanwhile, one mod specialist already made an update to the tool so that players can again play the current version of the title without any problems when a mod tool is activated. However, the mod tool doesn't work for the "GTA Online" title since custom scripts are disabled for multiplayer gameplay. This means that the newest version of the modding tool can only be used for single player campaigns.
