"New Girl" season 5 is set to premiere on Jan.5 and it looks like Nick (Jake Johnson) will be busy taming a hot and feisty sales representative.
According to the International Business Times, Megan Fox will be playing Raegan, a sexy pharmaceutical sales representative who may become Nick's love interest. She will be replacing Zooey Deschanel on the hit FOX comedy series, as the latter will be on pregnancy leave. Fans should not worry, though, as they will still see Jess in the first three episodes when she attends Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt's (Max Greenfield) engagement party.
While she is gone, the new girl is expected to set the screen on fire. Recent promo photos leaked online show the pair kissing. One of the images, however, suggests that the relationship will only be temporary, as Raegan can be seen leaving Nick behind.
Meanwhile, Cece and Schmidt are now officially engaged. The premiere episode for season 5 will reportedly feature the couple hosting their engagement bash. Nick will be serving as their best man while Jess will be the maid of honor. Most of their friends will also come to celebrate with them.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Liz Meriwether revealed how excited Schmidt was with the engagement that he would turn into a "bridezilla."
"What's fun for me is the idea that Schmidt is a bridezilla and he's the one who really cares about the wedding, the details of it and planning, and that Cece has already been engaged and already had a wedding that fell apart, so she doesn't really care and she's not really into all of the details," she said.
Meriwether also added that Schmidt would get to meet Cece's mother for the first time and that it would not be a happy moment for him. Schmidt's future in-law would reportedly not like him immediately. Will this affect Cece's frame of mind when they say "I do"?
