Donald Trump Approval Ratings Poll news 2018: U.S. President's approval rating drops, but popularity grows among millennials

After reaching its all-time high just the past month, United States President Donald Trump's approval rating went below 40 percent. It now sits at 37 percent, according to a new poll by the Quinnipiac University of Hamden, Connecticut. The poll also revealed that 58 percent of Americans disapprove of how Trump performs his job.

By now, there is an obvious separation between the people's approval of his policies and the president's personality. This was taken into account when the poll was conducted. They found out that an average of four out of 10 Americans (40 percent) approve of Trump's policies, but only three out of 10 (30 percent) like him as a person. Meanwhile, of the Republican demographic, 89% approve of Trump's policies, but only 68% approve of him as a person.

Meanwhile, a separate poll from Zogby paints a different picture of the United States President. Trump's approval rating, according to Zogby, stands at 48 percent. Most of the people who approve of him are millennials, who comprise about 50 percent of the approving demographic. Meanwhile, the president only got a 44 percent approval rating among voters aged 65 years and up.

The Zogby poll also took location into account, as well as the gender of the polled population. They found out the Trump has the most approval in the south and the east, with a 52 percent approval from each area. More men approve of Trump's work with 56 percent, as opposed to women's approval ratings which is at 44 percent.

Considering race, more white voters approve of Trump, at 56 percent. Meanwhile, he garnered the lowest approval rating amongst African American voters, which is 16 percent. His approval rating among Hispanic voters sits in the middle, at 39 percent.

It should be noted that U.S. President Trump's approval ratings rose slightly when he gave his last State of the Union speech.
