After a brief hiatus, "NCIS" will return to the CBS for the show's ninth episode, entitled "Pay to Play."

The episode — which will air after a two-week break — will put Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) team back in action after the Thanksgiving episode finally introduced fans to Bishop's (Emily Wickersham) latest romantic interest.

Avid viewers of the show were also introduced to Bishop's brothers, who wanted to meet her new boyfriend especially since their sister was hurt by her ex-husband, who cheated on her, which eventually led to the disintegration of their marriage.

Episode 9 will air on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The synopsis posted by TV.com reads, "The NCIS team investigates a series of escalating threats against congresswoman Jenna Flemming (Mary Masterson), while Director Vance oversees temporary protection detail."

For the show's tenth episode — entitled "The Tie that Binds" — Gibbs will be reunited with his old roomie, Agent Fornell (Joe Spano) in what promises to be a light and funny entry into season 14 of the show. However, episode 10 also promises to bring some trouble to the NCIS' resident medical examiner Ducky (David McCallum).

"After the NCIS team tracks evidence from the murder of a Navy captain to Ducky's deceased mother, Ducky looks back and questions a pivotal life choice he made 37 years ago. Also, the team exchanges holiday gifts, and Gibbs spends Christmas dinner with Fornell," reads the synopsis posted on SpoilerTV.

Meanwhile, talks are still floating among fans of the show that the next season may be the final one for lead star Mark Harmon as he could be leaving the show after 15 seasons. According to a report by HNGN, there has been no confirmation from Harmon's representatives or by CBS, but if Harmon leaves the show, it may be for health reasons.

The crew has reportedly noticed that the star has been losing weight and that he has been advised to take a break from acting to focus on his health.

"NCIS" season 14 airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
