Dr. Donald Mallard (David McCallum) has been considered a pro in conducting postmortem, but he will find his expertise tested in the upcoming episode of the long-running CBS series "NCIS."

In "Decompressed," CarterMatt reports that the squad will be taking on a difficult case involving the murder of a deep-sea diver. The promo photo shows that the victim is a man. He mysteriously died inside the high-tech dive chamber he and his team were staying at while on the mission. One of his friends is the killer. To get to the bottom of what truly happened, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) has to perform an unorthodox investigation. They cannot go inside the tank, so they have to do their probe outside of it.

Ducky will be called to conduct an autopsy, and just like the rest of his colleagues, he has to do it remotely. He will have to give instructions to the other divers inside the chamber and hope that they will be able to follow orders appropriately. The entire operation will be tricky, as one or all of the victim's friends may have a hand in his death. They can easily sabotage the examination. As for the rest of the NCIS team, they have to find a way to flush out the killer without ever stepping inside the tank.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that Agent Leroy Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) doctor, the one who saved his life in the first half of the season, will return. This time, Dr. Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer) will get to help the NCIS solve a case. Executive producer Gary Glasberg talked about the actor's guest appearance in the series and how excited they were to have him back.

"This time, Jon Cryer's Doctor Taft gets to help Gibbs solve a case and he likes it. Apparently solving crimes can be fun. Having Jon involved this season has been a gift. His skills as an actor and comedian make him the perfect addition to our team," he shared.

Aside from Cryer, another star set to appear in the February episode is Laura San Giacomo, famous for her work in "Pretty Woman" and "Just Shoot Me." She will be playing Dr. Taft's friend and colleague, Dr. Grace Confalone. The two will be working closely alongside Harmon's character.

"NCIS" season 13 episode 14 will air on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
