Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will work on their first case after the latter's murder charge in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "NCIS: Los Angeles."
In "Core Values," Hollywood Hills reports that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) will be tapped to investigate the death of a Gunnery Sargent. The officer was "moonlighting" as a security guard in a nuclear power plant when he mysteriously died. The authorities have reasons to believe that he was poisoned due to radiation. The only way to get some answers for the case is to infiltrate the decommissioned plant. Kensi and Deeks will be sent to go undercover and find the truth behind the victim's death.
This will be the pair's first job together after Deeks' unfortunate involvement in the murder of his former partner. The agent killed the other man purely to defend someone he cares about. The incident put a wedge between him and Kensi, as the latter felt bad that her boyfriend had so many secrets from her. At the end, though, Kensi said Deeks need not tell her exactly what happened the day of the murder and just chose to trust him to do what was right.
Coming after a harrowing ordeal, Deeks is bound to be less than his one hundred percent best. Kensi will have to keep an eye on him to make sure he is staying focused on the job. Theirs is a very dangerous operation, doing undercover work in a perilous place. If Deeks and Kensi are not careful, they could end up with the same fate as the dead gunnery sergeant.
Meanwhile, Design & Trend posits that the series may be cancelled for the next season, as it has not been getting good viewer ratings. The first half of the installment reportedly drew only 1.2. percent for the 18–40 age group. Compared to its sister show "NCIS: New Orleans," which received 1.67 rating, "NCIS: Los Angeles'" standing could be considered dismal indeed.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 episode 12 will air on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
