NBA trade rumors 2016: Could a trade be best for both Markieff Morris and the Suns?

Markieff Morris has drawn a lot of interest from several teams, but the Phoenix Suns don't seem to be interested in lifting a finger to consider any of them for now.

Morris has long been rumored to be leaving soon, something that dates back to the offseason. The friction developed when the Suns traded away his brother Marcus to Detroit, something that Morris believes was disrespectful.

While Morris did take back his rant of wanting to be traded before the season officially went underway, it seems to be obvious that he lacks the motivation and drive to contribute to the team's cause.

Right now, Phoenix is struggling. They are 13–31 so far, but the glaring factor is that Morris has not had the same success he enjoyed from last season.

Morris had good numbers last season, averaging 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 31.5 minutes of action. This year, he is a far cry from that performance, and the conclusion of most is that it comes with the issues he is dealing with right now.

Could a trade be best for both Morris and the Suns?

Even though they continue to deny it, many feel it would be the best scenario. But for the Suns to consider it, they will want something equal or better in return. They are unlikely to let themselves be low-balled and seem to prefer to keep an unhappy Morris than let him walk for nothing.

Several teams are being linked to Morris but so far, nothing has gone beyond the rumor mill. The Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been mentioned but the interesting part is what these teams offer to get the Suns to sign on the dotted line.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) trade deadline is on Feb. 18, so anything can still happen. Morris could be still be a Sun but if the offer is right, probably in another jersey for good measure.
