NBA trade rumors 2015: Memphis Grizzlies eyeing Nick Young as well?

The Memphis Grizzlies are in desperate need of a push and getting vital players from two popular ball clubs could be the way to go.

The Grizzlies had already agreed with the Miami Heat in principle to acquire Mario Chalmers and James Ennis in exchange for Beno Udrih and Jarnell Stokes plus a $2.1 million trade exception, but it looks like another player could be dealt for soon.

The player in mention is Nick Young of the Los Angeles Lakers, a scoring machine who has since diminished after suffering various injuries. That plus the fact that Kobe Bryant is back and Jordan Clarkson has blossomed since last season have pushed Young way back in the rotation.

Young could be another key addition for the Grizzlies who are looking for a shooter to complement their vaunted frontline of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph.

The Grizzlies haven't exactly lived up to their billing as one of the favorites in the competitive Western Conference and now, the team is looking to move for some players to fill up vital spots that could give them a boost.

The move could work for the Lakers as well as they may be looking to rid themselves of Young's large contract. Young is due to make $5.2 million for the coming season and another $11 million for the next two seasons.

With Bryant still unsure of his plans once his contract runs out this season, moving Young could be a wise move since it would free up some cap space for the Lakers and possibly make a run for high profile free agents in the summer of 2016.

One player whom the Lakers will try to lure is, of course, Kevin Durant and a flexible cap space could come in handy.

For Young, a stint with the Grizzlies could be another chance to revive his career. With the Lakers using Lou Williams, Bryant, and Clarkson more in the rotation, Young has been severely displaced compared to where he was way back in 2013.
