The first time Michael Jordan graced the cover of a 2K basketball video game was for "NBA 2K11." The second time was in 2012. Back for the third time, the player considered to be the Greatest of All Time will now be gracing the cover of the "NBA 2K16" Special Edition title.

According to franchise publisher 2K Sports, the Special Edition of the upcoming "NBA 2K16" will come with a number of digital Jordan gear as well as real-world items. Judging from the number of items included, the edition is targeted at both franchise collectors and hobbyists, and also for die-hard Michael Jordan fans.

For those who are into customizing their NBA players and want their created characters to stand out, the Special Edition will include digital Jordan shoes, digital Jordan T-shirt, and a digital Jordan jersey. In addition, there will be a MyTeam VIP package containing three Emerald Packs and an exclusive Moments Card. Also, players will be given 30,000 in virtual currency.

Meanwhile, collectors will also receive a Jordan Fathead wall sticker and a Jordan "NBA 2K16" poster.

In addition to the items included in the bundle, the Special Edition of "NBA 2K16" will also allow players to get early access to the full title on Sept. 25, four days before the regular launch. It will be available for PS4 and Xbox One for $79.99.

Jordan joins the other three game covers for this year – regular versions of the game featuring James Harden, Anthony Davis, and Steph Curry.

"NBA 2K16" will come out for the current-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; the older-gen PS3 and Xbox 360; and on PC on Sept. 29.
