NBA 2014 trade rumors: Brooklyn Nets' Deron Williams' move to Sacramento Kings in limbo

After Rajon Rondo's trade deal from the Boston Celtics to the Dallas Mavericks pushed through, talks about other All-Star players are already making the rounds in NBA's rumor circles even before the trade deadline ends on Feb. 19.

One of the most talked about trade rumors involves Brooklyn Net's All-Star point guard Deron Williams, who the Sacramento Kings is reportedly eyeing this season. Earlier, talks were rife about this deal, since the Nets were very much willing to let go any one of its core players, including Jason Thompson, Darren Collison, as well as Williams. Among the three, it was Williams who got the interest of the Kings. But the latest about these trade rumors claim that the Williams-Kings deal is not panning out. However, there could still be a possibility for it to push through, since both camps still has more than a month before the league's trade deadline.

Sources told ESPN news correspondent Chris Broussard that although talks have cooled and slowed, the deal is totally dead, and talks may still go on until February.

The Kings were actually pushing to include sophomore forward Mason Plumlee in the trade, but the Nets have no plans of letting go of its 24-year-old player, especially since he gave better numbers during his last six games, where he got an average of 18 points and 10.2 rebounds. The Kings are planning to use Plumlee alongside DeMarcus Cousins as their starter. But since Plumlee shows a lot of improvements, it may not be possible for the Nets to give him away anytime soon.

If the Kings will decide to acquire Williams, analysts believe that the team will have to take a lot of risk as it will be spending at least $63.1 million for the next three seasons.
