Good news for fans of USA Network's "Mr. Robot." Production has already started for the show only weeks after the airing of the season 2 finale.

Writer Sam Esmail —in an interview with Deadline — teased fans about what to expect for the third season. Esmail said that the show will be heavily influenced by the real life events happening in the political scene.

"The sentiment and the outrage and the support of Donald Trump; the groundswell by which he rose to become the Republican nominee, that sort of atmosphere is going to be used in the Mr. Robot universe and amplified by this great economic collapse which is happening like a slow car accident. What you're seeing is the events that stoked those (Trump-like) sentiments," he said.

The show — which heavily features technology in a modern day war — he explained, is also symbolic of the shifting landscape of international conflicts as wars are fought not with weapons, but with information, economics, and corporate warfare.

The writer was not shy about giving hints about where the show is headed for its third run, especially after the series bagged more acclaim in the recently held Emmys. For the show's first season, actor Christian Slater won best actor and the show won best drama at the Golden Globes.

At the Emmy's, the show was nominated for best drama for the first time while Rami Malek bagged his first win as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The show also took home the best dramatic score for the show. Esmail said that the win validated what they already know about Malek as an amazing actor.

Meanwhile, Malek himself confirmed that he has already shot a scene for the third season.

When the show returns, it is expected to reveal details about Angela's true allegiance as viewers have been wondering for a long time if she has already switched sides. Season 3 is set to answer this lingering question as well the incorporate more terrorism and domestic violence aspects to the Mr. Robot Universe.

"Mr. Robot" is expected to return to the USA Network on June or July 2017, reported CNS
