Some of the mysteries surrounding Elliot (Rami Malek), especially what he went through in the past, will be cleared in the second season of the hit USA Network series "Mr. Robot."

According to Vulture, viewers will be learning a lot about the hacker's story, his delusions, thoughts and, emotions that made him who he is in the show. Most of Elliot's backstory will reportedly be discussed in the upcoming installment, but showrunner Sam Esmail cautioned that there will still be a lot of gray areas for the viewers to make sense with.

"There will be a lot more backstory that we're going to show. The timeline is going to get a little clearer. Not 100 percent clearer, because what's the fun in that? But a little clearer," he shared.

Most of the revelations will purportedly focus on the memories that Elliot has forgotten and marginally remembered when his sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) revealed the truth. According to the executive producer, the second installment will fill in the voids that the previous season was not able to clear up regarding Elliot's past, present, and even future.

Esmail also shared that B.D. Wong's White Rose will return. He said that the actor's portrayal of the transgender character was nothing short of "amazing," and that it would be unwise not to use him more for season 2, albeit "sparingly." The executive producer admitted that viewers would not be seeing much of the character, as they need to preserve the mystery surrounding him.

Meanwhile, Esmail told Zap2it that the consequences of "societal collapse" in the first season would be felt in the upcoming episodes this summer. He shared they even had talks with real economic consultants to make sure that the storyline they would be presenting are authentic.

"Mr. Robot" Season 2 will premiere in summer 2016.
