The Moto Droid Turbo 2 is reportedly one of the slew of smartphones Motorola is planning to release. It is also quite the favorite when it comes to leaks. Tons of information about its specs and appearance have been spilled and this time, there's word when it will be out and about.

Tech tipster @upleaks is claiming that the Moto Droid Turbo 2 will be officially released as a Verizon exclusive in October. When it goes outside the U.S., it will go by the name Moto X Force. The handset will allegedly be made available overseas in December and the leakster says it is already confirmed for a China and Europe release.

The Moto Droid Turbo 2 and the Moto X Force are basically one device. The similarities start with the 5.43-inch Quad HD display. GSM Arena points out that the handsets pack greater power even though they are made smaller than the new Moto X Play (5.5 inches) and the Moto X Style (5.7 inches). This is also evident in its 3760 mAh battery unit, which is much bigger than the Play's and the Style's respective 3630 mAh and 3000 mAh battery packs.

Aside from a 21 MP and 5 MP camera combo, the devices allegedly utilize a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3 GB RAM. Both is said to have two models storage-wise – one with 32 GB and another at 64 GB. In addition, it looks like the back of the smartphone is going to be dressed with a textured plastic panel. It could also have a frame that is either made of metal or hard plastic.

The only apparent difference between the Moto X Force and the Moto Droid Turbo 2 is the logo of Verizon on the latter.

However, Motorola remains tightlipped about its future smartphone offerings.
