Microsoft Windows 10 news: Surface Desktop, refreshed Surface Book, and Surface Pro 5 to be unveiled on Oct. 26?

It is now official. Microsoft has sent out invites for a media event that will happen on Oct. 26. Fans are now anticipating that several devices would be unveiled, and it would include the Surface Desktop, a refreshed version of the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 5.

The invitation contains the "Imagine what you'll do" tagline. It then says, "Please join us to see what's next for Windows 10." The event is scheduled to happen at 10:00 a.m. EDT in New York.

An all-in-one desktop machine is rumored to arrive, dubbed as the Surface Desktop. It is believed to be offered in several models, a 21-inch model that would carry a Full HD resolution, a 24-inch model, and a 27-inch model which is believed to have a 4K screen. Ars Technica mentioned that a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse could possibly be included with the alleged machine, and it is expected to have a tag price of around $1,000. The processing power is said to be handled by Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor.

The second generation of the Surface Book is also speculated to see the light of day. It is rumored to contain a revised hinge and the seventh generation Intel processor, along with support for USB 3.1 and graphics capabilities such as a 4K display resolution via a GTX 10 series GPU. It is expected to maintain its screen size, but it is rumored to have a thinner and lighter overall design.

The third device on the fans' wish list is the Surface Pro 5. The hybrid tablet is speculated to feature an updated processor, which is the Kaby Lake, 2K display for the entry level and 4K resolution for its high-end model. A 16-MP rear camera and 8-MP front shooter are also speculated to arrive with the device, along with the latest version of USB port. A similar price tag with its predecessor is also expected with the alleged device.

The Microsoft Windows 10 event will happen on Oct. 26 at 10:00 a.m. EDT in New York City. It will also be live streamed through the company website so that everybody will have a chance to watch it unfold in real time.
