Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs: No official launch date still; Price expected to be at $900

 Microsoft

At this point in time, Microsoft seems still unwilling to divulge more information about the highly anticipated Surface Pro 5. Regardless, the rumors and speculations about its release date and specs still do not show any sign of abating.

Its predecessor, Surface Pro 4, was released way back in October 2015, which suffered a lot of issues that made it less of an ideal choice among gadget enthusiasts. The primary complaint was the laptop hybrid's battery, which is severely lacking in performance. Also, the stylus used for this device is also suffering from usability issues, making it hard for users to properly utilize its capabilities.

According to Science World Report, fans are expecting Microsoft to have these issues remedied with the Surface 5 once it gets released by next year, supposedly. This might be the main reason why Microsoft is delaying the release of this device since they want to ensure that the device will be functional and avoid the aforementioned problems.

With the Surface Pro 5 expected to have the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor, this device is expected to have a doubled rate of efficiency that would surpass any of its predecessor's performance. After all, the current Surface Pro 4 is powered by the latest Intel Skylake processor, so there will be a gap between the two devices' performance if ever the rumors turn out to be true.

Furthermore, the upcoming Surface Pro hybrid laptop will have the latest Windows 10 update, known as the Redstone 2, which is still in development. As such, with the update rumored to be out by the spring of 2017, people are also expecting the Surface Pro 5 to come out by that time as well.

An earlier article made by the Ecumenical News states that the laptop-tablet hybrid will be priced at $900 for its base variant, which will have the Core i5.
