Miami Heat injury, roster rumors 2016: Chris Bosh's injured calf to undergo series of examinations

The challenge of facing a significant injury is upon Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, who is being bothered by a strained right calf that will be checked when he returns to Miami.

Bosh is dealing with the calf woe for days now and according to the Associated Press, the veteran big man will undergo examinations possibly today, Monday, when he arrives following the 2016 All-Star Weekend in Toronto, Canada.

The injured calf prevented Bosh from participating in the Foot Locker Three-Point contest held last Saturday and the 2016 All-Star Game on Sunday.

The Atlanta Hawks' Al Horford replaced him in the Eastern Conference All-Stars roster.

The 31-year-old forward believes not engaging in the following All-Star Weekend competitions was a wise decision as he tries to be cautious and professional.

Bosh, whose previous season ended after the 2015 All-Star Weekend, said he is optimistic regarding the recent health setback.

Miami is doing enough to contend in the East and Bosh is a major part of their success this 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season.

Playing and starting in all 53 of their regular season games, Bosh is averaging 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 33.5 minutes played per contest.

Unfortunately, the Heat lost their last two games heading to the All-Star break, but still they are fifth in the East with a 29–24 record.

There is no information yet if Bosh needs to sit out games, although he has a few days to rest since the Heat's regular season will not resume until Friday, Feb. 21.

If Bosh needs time off the court, likely replacing him are fellow veterans Udonis Haslem and Josh McRoberts, with second-year forward Jarnell Stokes who is currently in the NBA Developmental League (D-League).

The three had limited playing time this season but can step up and earn significant minutes if an absence is required for Bosh's healing.
