'Mega Man Legacy Collection' release date this summer: what to expect

 Capcom Blog

One of the most famous icons associated with game giant Capcom is their robot hero Mega Man, and the company is looking to reboot the franchise with a package title.

According to the press release on the official Capcom blog, an upcoming pack will bundle the first six "Mega Man" titles, to be released as "Mega Man Legacy Collection." The pack is confirmed to be released this coming summer for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Meanwhile, the Wii U version of the game will be made available in winter.

Aside from the original six games, the bundled package will give players "challenges, a huge of-the-era museum packed with visual history and a helpful database that informs and tests you on your Mega Man prowess," the blog post says

The "Mega Man Legacy Collection" will not only update the six original titles in terms of design. Gameplay-wise, the package will include new features that would surely bring both nostalgia and excitement for gamers. For example, the added new Challenge mode will get intense levels from each of the six titles and will combine them into one wave-type horde challenge. How players take on the challenges is important, as the top plays will automatically be uploaded to be viewed by other players.

In addition, each title under the package will have its own database of enemies. This way, players can save details about enemies and schedule practice sessions before trying the game's levels for real.

The upcoming package also has a treat for hardcore "Mega Man" fans with the introduction of the Museum feature. Nostalgia will surely be felt by the fans of the franchise, since this feature will showcase a collection of original art sketches and other visual graphics taken from the 1987-1992 development era of the original six titles.
