'Man of Steel 2' rumors, spoilers: Brainiac o be the villain? Movie release not expected before 2019

 Warner Bros.

The "Man of Steel" sequel is still unconfirmed, but some of the rumors are saying that this new movie will have Brainiac as the villain who will challenge Superman (played by Henry Cavill).

According to the Ecumenical News, Brainiac is considered to be the most plausible antagonist for the new "Man of Steel" movie, since he is still one of the most powerful villains to ever exist in the superhero's incarnations. Also, it is possible for Brainiac to be played by Nicholas Cage, who, as fans can remember, was supposed to become Superman as well, but the movie he was supposed to play in, "Superman Lives," was scrapped and was just buried in the past.

Some rumors spoil that Brainiac will face off with Superman twice in the new movie, and it will be a showdown of power. The first fight is rumored to be in space, where Superman's cousin, Supergirl, will appear and help him. As for the second fight, the Earth will be the battlefield, with the entirety of the Justice League to fight alongside Superman to finally take down this supervillain.

The Martian Manhunter is also rumored to make an appearance as well, but he is going to be responsible for Brainiac's descent on Earth as he chases him around the galaxy. Apart from this rumored plot, some speculations also say that Warner Brothers are stil ltrying to get J.J. Abrams to direct the movie, since the studio supposedly wants a respectable director for this movie. After all, Abrams is known for his ability to bring back the magic of old movies.

However, there is still no confirmation about the movie's definite release date. An earlier article made by The Wrap said that "The Man of Steel 2" sequel is still far off, since DC already has movies slated starting next year until 2018.
