Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell) and her team will welcome a new member with a dark past in the back half of the TNT series "Major Crimes" season 4.

Executive producer James Duff shared the news to TV Guide, stating that the new addition to the squad will come to Sharon's attention as they investigate a new case. Apparently, it has a connection to a murder that took place 12 years ago, wherein Detective Stephanie Dunn's (Julie Ann Emery) husband was killed. The culprit, who is still at large, has resurfaced once again and is on a rampage. The unit has been tapped to apprehend him before he can victimize again.

When Stephanie learns that her husband's murderer is back, she will lend her support to Sharon's team, hoping that this time, justice will be served. It all started when an off-duty police officer was killed. Her husband was working as a bodyguard for the prosecuting attorney of the case that time. When his client was gunned down, he was a collateral damage. Duff shared in his interview some facts about the new character.

"Shattered, Stephanie drank for a month, then transferred out of homicide to narcotics investigations, but, like Sanchez, she never got over the death of her spouse," the Duff said. "Steph finds herself forced to relive the death of her husband while entertaining the possibility of joining Captain Raydor and her team as a full time member of her division," he added.

Meanwhile, the winter premiere of the current season will kick-start with a new case for the Major Crimes Division. In the episode titled "Hindsight," Spoiler TV reports that Los Angeles is being stalked by a dangerous criminal. The authorities are facing a number of unsolved homicides without any lead in sight. When the newest victims, a mother and her child, are discovered, the squad is brought in to sift through the evidences.

"Major Crimes" season 4 will return on Monday, Feb. 15, at 9 p.m. EST on TNT.
