A rumored Apple event will be happening in March. Many are speculating that the event will be the venue for the unveiling of several devices like the iPhone 5se, iPad Air 3 and a new Apple Watch. Many are also convinced that Apple will not show their MacBook line yet as it is speculated that the latest laptop is reserved for the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

So far, the rumors flying around say that the general appearance of the upcoming MacBook will be almost the same as the previous ones. It might be thinner and lighter than the 2015 version, that is, if they can still shed more physical space and weight. The aluminum shell, backlit keyboard and the highly precise touchpad might be staying for a while. However, when it comes to performance, the rumored one is expected to have great improvements.

Starting with the processor: the initial speculation is a Broadwell chip; however, with recent technology developments, it seems that Apple may opt for a Skylake chip, the sixth generation of the i5 and i7 processors. It might then be paired with an Intel Iris Pro Graphics for the MacBook Pro 2016 and an Intel HD Graphics 6000 GPU for the MacBook Air 2016. The latest processors are more powerful and more energy efficient. Being energy efficient, this means that the battery's power will take a longer time to deplete.

There are also speculations that the upcoming MacBook will have a better display screen. Last year's 13.3-inch screen MacBook Air offered a 1440 x 900 pixel resolution -- sharp but lacks the crispness of a better quality display.

Other notable upgrades to look forward to are the connectivity ports. It is rumored that the MacBook 2016 will have USB 3.0 ports and Thunderbolt 2, which will greatly affect the transfer of large files. A 3.5mm headset jack and SDXC card reader are expected to still be there, plus the 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

The MacBook 2016 line is also rumored to have the Force Touch trackpad, an 8GB RAM and variable flash storage, from 128GB, 256GB to 512GB.
