Luis Ortiz eyes fight with Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder

Interim World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion Luis Ortiz is still savouring his win over Bryant Jennings at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in New York City last weekend but, apparently, "The Real King Kong" is not wasting any time lining up his next possible opponents.

Ortiz made a good impression over the weekend with his conquest of Jennings, who had a bout with the flu before the actual tiff. Such allowed him to retain his interim title but the reality of it all is that Ortiz wants to face the big names in the heavyweight division.

That list includes Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and even Wladimir Klitschko, making it clear that he will face anyone that Golden Boy Promotions throws at him.

A bout with Wilder seems to be near impossible due to complications. One is that Ortiz fights under Golden Boy while Wilder is with Al Haymon. Of course, there is a chance that Golden Boy and Haymon could try to work something out but right now, it seems like a remote possibility.

Other than that, there is the issue of pay-per-view (PPV).

Wilder fights are aired via Premiere Boxing Champions and Showtime while Ortiz is carried by HBO, another issue that could hold back a possible Ortiz vs. Wilder showdown.

A fight with Tyson Fury and even Wladimir Klitschko doesn't seem to be doable at least for now. The fact is the two boxers are expected to have a rematch in 2016, meaning Ortiz may have to wait and see how that turns out.

Hence, impressive as his win over Jennings may be, Ortiz may have to look for someone else to fight other than the top three.

Names like Anthony Joshua or Dillian Whyte could be possible but one thing apparently holding everything back is the so-called "interim" title tag.
