Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2016: Youngsters likely staying as veterans become trade options

Another losing season is in front of the Los Angeles Lakers and with the trade deadline nearing, it is likely that the franchise will maintain its young core and would deal away veterans.

In a report by SB Nation's Silver Screen and Roll, Anthony Brown, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr., Julius Randle, D'Angelo Russell, and Kobe Bryant were on the list of players who are unlikely leaving before the deadline.

There is no doubt that these young and budding players are staying with the Lakers as the franchise aims to rebuild, and contend again in the coming seasons.

For a franchise to re-establish, it needs talented young players to have a dynamic core, and the Lakers' roster is filled with that this 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) season.

Los Angeles has a great young backcourt in Clarkson and Russell, high-flying and efficient forwards in Nance and Brown, with a quality big man in Randle.

Clarkson and Russell's efforts this season were even acknowledged as the two were selected to participate for Team USA in the Rising Stars Challenge, a part of the All-Star Weekend.

These young players are set to play for purple and gold since they are the foundations the franchise will build around as it prepares for the future.

Meanwhile Bryant, who is the franchise's superstar, was included in the list because it is understood that the Lakers will not part ways with him in his final season after 20 years of playing for them and in the NBA.

Now, players who are on the list of likely being shipped to other teams include Robert Sacre, Marcelo Huertas, Tarik Black, Ryan Kelly, Metta World Peace, Nick Young, Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass, and Lou Williams.

Aside from Williams, no other player on the previous list is playing with impact for the Lakers.

Williams is currently the player who has the highest trade value since he is performing consistently and is even the second-leading scorer for the team, averging 15.3 points per game.

The Lakers have not had a significant trade for some time now, and with the way things are going, it does not look like that will change this season.
