Los Angeles Lakers rumors: Byron Scott and Julius Randle iron things out

Byron Scott has been hit left and right with the way he has handled the Los Angeles Lakers and reaching out to his players is something most people would hardly see happening.

As it turns out, Scott did go through the trouble, especially since things weren't working out well between him and disgruntled sophomore forward Julius Randle.

Randle has been faring badly as of late and the frustration tied up to it has been showing. He showed a lot of this in the Lakers' game against the Phoenix Suns, showing his dismay at not being given the ample playing time to help out.

And apparently, Scott took note of it and eventually came out to say that Randle needs to "grow up." That statement, of course, seemed to add more fuel to the fire than challenge Randle, and Scott eventually reached out to explain things to Randle as reported through Lakers Nation.

In the end, it seems that Randle finally understood and hopefully Scott's efforts will pan out.

To recall, it was back in December when Scott himself demoted Randle and rookie D'Angelo Russell to the bench. It was part of an experiment that the head coach wanted to employ to technically see what combo can do well on the hardwood.

The period for such lapsed but Randle remained on limited minutes. The rise of Larry Nance Jr. seemed to have contributed to it, though the two could play at the same time if Scott opted to.

The former Kentucky Wildcat does have the talent to mix it up inside but the fact remains that he still has a lot of things to work on. One of that is improving on his outside shooting, which he may need if he wants to be a more complete player.
