A look at Google's new offerings will, of course, be headlined by the LG Google Nexus 5x and the Huawei Google Nexus 6P.
Of the two, the Nexus 6P is the higher version and considered the better buy; but considering that it has been having supply issues that make it a bit harder to come by, the Nexus 5X could be a better option to consider instead.
Phone buyers may have to take their expectations down a notch but the Nexus 5X is no pushover. It features a 5.2-inch FHD (1920 x 1080 resolution) and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz.
The device features 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB internal storage, a 12.3-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,700 mAh battery. Additionally, it already comes with the much awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Nexus 5X is, of course, an improved version succeeding the previous Nexus 5; but more importantly, it places the new features carried by the Android 6.0 M into focus. This includes bringing Google Now On Tap, improved privacy features, and stricter setting of permissions as far as apps accessing device data are concerned.
The Now on Tap allows users to get the necessary help through the contextual information that comes with it. Such can be accessed as well using voice command which stands to be easier and faster when users need some information on a certain topic.
So aside from the new features that the Nexus 5X carries and the new Android 6.0 M perks, it certainly justifies the bump in price range which many are finding hard to understand.
There are some who may opt for the Nexus 6P, something priced higher and will likely require one to wait a bit to get. Depending on one's budget and patience, such could be the case. But for those in a hurry, the Google Nexus 5X certainly carries a lot that should be more than enough for most mobile phone consumers.
